2018 Ride Schedule

Participants must show up 15 min early to fill out release of liability forms. If you are riding a demo bike, make sure to already have your demo bike in hand at the designated start time.

Rides departing 9:00 AM

  • REI Ride: 1.5 hours. Leaves from REI tent.
  • Mountain Bike Skills Clinic:  (16 yrs. and older only) led by Dylan Renn, owner and head coach of A Singletrack Mind.  Come optimize your mountain bike skills with A Singletrack Mind, mountain bike skills coaching.  In this hour long workshop  you will learn and review the core fundamentals of mountain biking. We help you overcome your roadblocks, boost your confidence and build more skills on the bike with emphasis on the foundation skills: cornering, braking, wheel lifts, bike set-up, balance and more.  Engaging and interactive mountain bike skill drills, Q&A and trail time!

Rides departing 9:15 AM

  • A4B Advocacy Ride: 1.5-2 hours. Led by NICA Coach and A4B Board Member Mike Nettleton and Marin County District 1 Supervisor Damon Connolly. Intermediate and above skill level only. Leaves from A4B Booth.

Rides departing 9:30 AM

 

  • Yuri's Flurry. Come on a fast paced ride with NorCal League's first mate, Yuri Hauswald. Yuri will be headed out of town later today to take on the biggest race of his life, the Dirty Kanza XL, an invitation only fully self supported 350 mile gravel grinder! He won the 200 mile version of the Dirty Kanza in 2015! Come help Yuri burn off the jitters before his long drive to the mid-west. Be prepared for 2 solid hours of hard effort, fun trails, and a few stories thrown in while you take in the views of the San Pablo and Richardson Bay. Advanced riders only! Ride leaves from the Krakatoa Booth at 9:30 am. 

 

  • Old-Timer Ride: (60-ish and over) Led by John Boeschen: Leaves A4B Booth.

Rides departing 9:45 AM

  • Kids Ride: (Ages 7-13) Pedal bikes only, no scoots. Led by Emile Mullholand: Leaves A4B booth.

Rides departing 10:00 AM

 

  •  Blind Leading the Blind. Follow legally blind professional mountain biker Bobby McMullen and experience mountain biking the way Bobby does. All riders will place black hoodies over their heads, secure with helmets, and ride blind! ARE WE KIDDING? ABSOLUTELY! All riders will get a chance to ride with Bobby and see for themselves how Bobby uses humor, determination, and unshakable optimism to battle adversity – both on and off the bike. Intermediate level no drop ride. 
  • Liv Chix Women's Ride:  Led by Jenn Sanders and Jackie Pareriea: Join the LIV Chix of Marin for a no drop Women's Beg/Int ride. Leave from Liv Chix Booth
  • Norcal Ride: Led by NorCal HS Cycling League Race Director Robert “Coco” Ramirez:  An intermediate-level ride for parents and kids. Leaves A4B booth. 
  • Mixed Terrain Ride: 10:00 AM CX Bikes encouraged. Led by Leveroni Adventure Club: leaves from Mike’s Bikes booth.

  • Beginner Ride: (Ages 13 and up) Led by Christina Toms: Leaves A4B booth.

  • Family Ride: For kids with at least one parent, no scoots. Led by Karen and Joe Molinari. Leaves A4B booth.

Rides Departing 1:30 pm

  • KIDS/YOUTH SESSION: KIDS Mountain Bike Skills Workshop (16 and under) by Dylan Renn, owner of A Singletrack Mind.

     Interested in mountain biking? Eager to have fun out on the trail with your friends? In this hour long mountain bike skills workshop geared towards youth we will cover the main challenges kids face on the bike. Fun skill drills, bike set up, understanding the basic components of the bike and how to get the most out of your time on your mountain bike. And an all kid favorite: some fun pop a wheelie demo and instruction!

  • REI MTB skills ride: Switch Backs:  1 hour. Leaves from REI tent.
