National Trails Day 2024
Happy National Trails Day from Access4Bikes and our friends at Marin Water! We hope you got out to experience the amazing trails right in our backyard.
On a sunny Saturday morning, 46 (!) volunteers showed up to work alongside Water District staff to work on the Azalea Hill Trail, aka Liberty Gulch. Access4Bikes sent 8 skilled builders who split into several groups. Work included brushing, tread improvements, finish work, and rolling grade dips to divert water from rutting the trail.
“I had a great time today volunteering at MMWD’s National Trails Day event,” said Connor Ernst, part of A4B’s trail crew. “I’m happy to have represented part of Marin’s cycling community as an Access4bikes trail crew member and to work alongside other trail users and MMWD staff. I’m also grateful for the steps that MMWD is taking to be more inclusive on their narrow trails and look forward to more opportunities to get involved with maintaining our watershed, the trails it hosts, and the communities who use them.”
Staff were very happy with the A4B work and are stoked to work with us on future projects. The trail is scheduled to open this fall.
Happy riding!
