2024 Volunteer of the Year

Access4Bikes is pleased to announce that Jeff Vickers has been named the 2024 Volunteer of the Year! 🏆

Jeff is one of those trail stewards who occupies a rare group that pre-dates Access4Bikes itself. We first met Jeff back in the late 1990’s when Tamarancho was in its construction phase. Jeff was a regular volunteer dedicating his free time building the trails we now know as Tamo.

Fast forward to today and you can find Jeff on any given Saturday, showing up to Tamarancho volunteer dig days, and leading a crew on the project of the day. But it doesn’t end there. Jeff will give the day’s tools an end of day inspection. He’ll find a broken handle, a loose head, a dull blade, place the tool in his car, and off to his workshop it goes for a full tune up.

Jeff recently took the A4B power wheel barrow to his shop, fully rebuilt the engine and all moving parts giving new life to one of the most cherished tools we have owned. Jeff even made custom racks for the BoB trailer to safely carry tools to remote work sites. Oh, and Jeff also completely re-organized the A4B tool shed with custom welded tool racks and new shelving!

Jeff’s art continually is on display for all passholders at Tamo - he makes the passes!

Jeff and his wife, Cathleen, are also Champion members of Access4Bikes, residing in San Geronimo.

Thank you Jeff for all you do for the trails!
