*BREAKING* Temporary Restraining Order on MMWD Pilot Project

Marin County, CA | One day before the official October 4th start of the Pilot Trails Projects by the Marin Municipal Water District (MMWD), the Marin Conservation League (MCL), the Audubon Society, and The California Native Plant Society launched a joint lawsuit against the project.

A hearing was held on October 3rd at 4pm in Judge Andrew Sweet's courtroom at the Marin Superior Court. Access4Bikes reps and our partners at Marin County Bicycle Coalition (MCBC) were in attendance in support of MMWD's legal team.

The case brought against the project includes demand for a CEQA review that would push the change to the trail system out significantly. After hearing from both sides, Judge Sweet placed a temporary restraining order on the project to allow time for due process.

The hearing for a preliminary injunction is planned for November 1.

While we are deeply disappointed by this situation, we are not wholly surprised. We will do everything we can to keep the project moving ahead.

Stay tuned.
