Fridays are for trail work!

Mt. Tamalpais, CA | In preparation for the start of Marin Water’s Pilot Trails Project on October 4th, volunteers gathered to help with maintenance work on a popular hiking trail by Bon Tempe Lake, Sunnyside Trail. Sunnyside is one of 10 trails included in the Pilot that will soon be open to bikes.

MMWD hosts regular trail maintenance days, usually on hiking-only trails. Access4Bikes is glad to promote and, when able, partner in MMWD’s efforts that improve the trail experience for users. This particular work day, however, was even more special given that Sunnyside trail is part of the broader action MMWD is taking to open trails to bikes on Mt. Tam.

“It was awesome! We had 11 volunteers, 2 of our friends of MCBC, and 4 MMWD staff kick butt on Sunnyside,” enthused Vernon Huffman, A4B Executive Director. “Plus, all volunteers listed A4B as their affiliation and information source! The trail is ready to go.”

With the start date looming, A4B wants to thank everyone who has participated so far in maintenance efforts, and who signs up for future work. You’re helping to make this dream a reality!
